St. Raphael’s first-ever Walk for Dignity will be held on June 17, 2021, on the theme “Our last steps are as important as our first!” Done individually due to public health recommendations, this fundraising walk aims to raise $100,000 for St. Raphael’s Palliative Care Home and to commemorate the lives of patients who have passed away this year.

Marie Michèle Del Balso, the outgoing chair of our board of directors, opened the event by taking on the impressive challenge of walking 65 km in one day to raise funds for St. Raphael’s. The Walk, which Del Balso is doing in memoriam of her mother who passed away this year, will become an annual opportunity for St. Raphael’s community to walk, commemorate and come together and, in raising funds, allow St. Raphael’s to continue providing, free of charge, excellent palliative care to people diagnosed with an incurable disease and to their loved ones.
