The Walk for Dignity is back for its sixth edition, bringing people together

On Sunday, May 3, 2026, the entire community is invited to gather at Parc Pratt in Outremont to take part in the 6th edition of the Walk for Dignity. Organized in support of Maison St-Raphaël, the Walk for Dignity is an opportunity to pay tribute to those who have passed away, while also taking meaningful action for people at the end of life and their loved ones. With a fundraising goal of $400,000, this annual initiative plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of the services offered by Maison St-Raphaël. Thanks to the generosity of participants and donors, hundreds of people each year are able to receive essential care and compassionate support at no cost.

The Walk is also intended to be a moment for the community to come together. Families, friends, colleagues, and citizens from all walks of life are invited to register, either individually or as a team. As in previous years, participants will be able to choose between a 1- or 5-kilometer route in a warm and respectful atmosphere, where every step carries a story.

At the heart of the day is also a commemorative space to remember, reflect, and honour the memory of loved ones who have passed, through lotus flowers. Holding deep symbolic meaning at Maison St-Raphaël, the lotus is associated with strength, resilience, and renewal, and represents the ability to endure hardship and emerge with hope. Following the Walk, the event also offers a festive and friendly moment with a family barbecue, allowing participants to come together and connect in a caring and welcoming atmosphere.

The Walk for Dignity reminds us that behind every gesture—whether it is a donation, a registration, or a single step—there is a memory, a story, a bond that never fade, as well as a deep commitment to preserving dignity and offering comfort during life’s most vulnerable moments. By walking together, we do far more than cover a distance: we honour the memory of those who have passed, and we keep alive what remains—love, presence, and dignity.

If you are unable to participate on May 3, you can still contribute by making a donation to support Maison St-Raphaël and its free services for people at the end of life and their loved ones. Your support makes a difference.
