St. Raphael’s Palliative Care Home and Day Centre holds a groundbreaking ceremony to officially inaugurate the start of construction
St. Raphael’s Palliative Care Home and Day Centre held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the official inauguration of construction work last October 30. The event was a great success and was attended by a number of distinguished guests, including Dr. Gaétan Barrette, Minister of Health and Social Services, Pierre Arcand, Minister responsible for Government Administration and Ongoing Program Review, Chair of the Conseil du trésor and MNA for Mont‑Royal, and Russell Copeman, then Borough Mayor of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. A number of major donors and over a hundred members of the community were also present.
The event was an important milestone in the St. Raphael’s project. In the coming weeks, St. Raphael’s will kick off the general public phase of its $10 million major fundraising campaign. Our donors’ generosity to date has already allowed us to reach the 60% mark and given us the means to achieve our ambitions.
