Maison St-Raphaël’s takes a holistic approach to care encompassing the physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual well-being of each patient while also supporting the informational and emotional needs of those closest to the patient.

This approach is based on creating a circle of care, which is provided through an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, therapists (massage, art, music, physio), spiritual care providers, as well as many trained volunteers.

The focus of the health care team is to provide comfort to the patient, rather than placing emphasis on curing a life-limiting illness.

For patients

Psychological, social and spiritual support is provided to patients and their loves ones
Customized care based on individual needs
Care is provided with respect for the individual’s right to privacy, autonomy and beliefs
Care decisions are made in partnership with the patient, his/her loved ones and the clinical team

In addition to the comfort-focused care provided by our interdisciplinary team, we have a 24-hour visiting policy (including pets), a family lounge area and the option of staying overnight with the patient.

For caregivers and loved ones

Members of Maison St-Raphaël’s multidisciplinary team collaborate to address the emotional, social and spiritual needs of the patients’ loved ones. Trained and qualified volunteers provide companionship and support while patients are being cared for at Maison St-Raphaël. Bereavement support is offered to caregivers and loved ones following a death.
